Pasta with a Purpose

Pasta with a Purpose is how Allora Pasta Co. gives back to those who need it most. Since June 2020, we've donated over $8,300 to organizations across the U.S. and around the world, one workshop at a time.

How does it work?

For each Pasta with a Purpose event, Allora partners with a nonprofit whose mission genuinely aligns with our values. Together, we plan a pasta making workshop, virtual or in person - and a portion of the proceeds goes directly to that organization.

Because these workshops can happen anywhere with an internet connection, anyone can take part, whether you're joining from your own kitchen or hosting a group in person.

This season's partner: Make the Road New York

We're proud to have partnered with Make the Road New York (MRNY) this past April. They are the largest immigrant-led grassroots organization in New York State, supporting workers' rights, immigrant and civil rights, housing justice, and educational access for communities across the five boroughs and beyond. To support their work, Chef Iris Rozinsky and I hosted a collaborative pop-up dinner in Queens, bringing our her Pueblan Cuisine and our fresh pasta directly into the community, with 10% of profits from the event going straight to the organization.

Why we do this

Food is about more than eating. It's about who you share a table with, the courage it takes to cook for someone else, and the confidence that comes from making something with your own two hands. Pasta with a Purpose is our way of turning that experience into something bigger, using pasta making to build community while supporting causes that matter.
