Quick Pickled Onions

🧅🧅 Let’s make quick pickled onions for top off all your favorite summer snacks. Go check out the IGtv of this recipe for the longer version! A few ideas: tacos, Bloody Mary, steak w/ chimichurri, pasta?! Grilled cheese?!

What you’ll need:

3 small to medium red onions, thinly sliced
1 cup water
1 cup vinegar (1/2 cup apple cider vin and 1/2 cup white distilled vin)
3 t salt
3 T sugar
Pinch of chili flakes
Fennel and Black Peppercorn or other spices of your choice

Add sliced onions to a glass, tempered jar (preferably one that has a lid). Add all other ingredients to a pot and bring up to a simmer. Once salt and sugar have dissolved and spices are aromatic, pour liquid over onions in jar. Make sure the onions are underneath the liquid. You can add cheesecloth on top to keep them securely submerged. Let sit out at room temp for 20-30 mins until cool. Keep in your fridge to add to all of your favorite dishes!
